Patna (Bihar) [India], October 11 (ANI): Congress leader Manoj Kumar on Saturday slammed the NDA government in Bihar, saying that the situation of the state has been "deplorable" over the past twenty years.
While talking to reporters, Congress leader Manoj Kumar said, "There is a mess in the NDA... Bihar has been in a state of ruin for 20 years; the condition of health and education is deplorable..."
He further alleged that a scam has taken place under the Public Distribution System where only 4 lakh litres of kerosene oil are distributed instead of the promised 48 lakh litres.
"A massive scam has taken place under the Public Distribution System (PDS). According to the data here (in Bihar), 48 lakh litres of kerosene oil are provided every month, but only 4 lakh litres are distributed... I will write a letter to the central government regarding this and also raise the issue in Parliament... I would like to ask the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister, under whose regime does this scam fall? You always talk about 'jungle raj," he said.
Highlighting the seat distribution in Mahagathbandhan for the upcoming Bihar Assembly election, he said, "...Discussions are ongoing regarding some seats in the Mahagathbandhan... Our candidates have been finalised for some seats, and where they have been finalised, we are fielding our candidates... There is no dispute of any kind in the INDIA alliance. We are standing together strongly..."
Meanwhile, the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) will be announcing their candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections on October 13 (Monday), the party's founder and former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav said on Saturday.
Yadav himself will be contesting from the Mahua assembly constituency, the same seat he had won during the 2015 elections while still being with the RJD. "I will declare my candidates the day after tomorrow. Parso jordaar ailaan hoga (Day after tomorrow big announcements will be made)... I will contest from Mahua," the JJD founder said.
When asked about whether he is talking with other parties, he said, "Everyone is coming to meet me."
Tej Pratap Yadav is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
He was expelled from the party and the Yadav family for a serious breach of moral and social values after controversy broke out over a Facebook post of his claiming that he was in a long-term relationship with a woman, prompting netizens to recall his marital dispute that made headlines a few years ago.
Tej Pratap had claimed that his account was hacked. (ANI)
