Kajaria founder delegates key managerial roles to sons Chetan Kajaria and Rishi Kajaria

Kajaria Ceramics founding Chairman & Managing Director, Ashok Kajaria, has decided to delegate his major responsibilities to his sons, Chetan Kajaria and Rishi Kajaria.

In a board meeting held on Monday, the company appointed Chetan Kajaria as the Vice Chairman and Rishi Kajaria as the Managing Director of Kajaria Ceramics. Their father Ashok Kajaria will now serve as the Chairman under the category of the whole-time director (executive director) for a period of 5 years w.e.f. October 1, 2025.

Who is Chetan Kajaria?

Chetan Kajaria was serving as the Joint Managing Director of Kajaria Ceramics for more than 10 years. He is now appointed as the Vice Chairman of the company under the category of the whole-time director (executive Director) for a period of 5 years.

Chetan is a Bachelor in Petro Chemical Engineering (BE) from Pune University and an MBA from Boston College, US. Starting his journey at the company in 2000, he has been instrumental in providing a new dimension to the company by opening international-standard tile showrooms across the country.

In 2011, he adopted an asset-light approach by strategically acquiring majority stakes in plants in western and southern India to expand the company’s production base beyond North India. This step helped reduce capex and also brought about a significant reduction in gestation period associated with setting up greenfield facilities.

Mentioning that Chetan's initiatives have played a pivotal role in positioning Kajaria as a leading manufacturer of wall and floor tiles in India, the company said that he also pioneered the concept of value-added tiles using digital technology from Spain.

Who is Rishi Kajaria?

Earlier serving as the Joint Managing Director, Rishi has now been appointed as the Managing Director of the company under the category of the whole-time director (executive Director) for a period of 5 years w.e.f. October 1, 2025.

Rishi holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Boston University, U.S.A. After joining the company in 2023, he spearheads the vitrified tile vertical of Kajaria Ceramics.

Initially refusing to set up domestic production capacity for 5 years, Rishi decided to manufacture tiles locally. The company opened the first production unit for vitrified tile was started in Sikandrabad in 2010. Subsequently, Kajaria Ceramics commissioned a big expansion of vitrified tiles at Gailpur in 2011. Company's next capacity addition came through joint ventures in Morbi, Gujarat.

Rishi further intensified his focus on value added products in GVT segment in particular backed by installation of continua plus press technology in North & South Indian facilities. He is the man behind Kajaria's forey in bathware segment for giving a complete bathware solutions to the customers.
