Tawang: Two personal security officers (PSO) of singer Zubeen Garg were arrested by the Special Investigation Team ( SIT) of Assam police on Friday.
A senior police officer said that Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya were arrested as huge financial transactions were detected in their bank accounts. Both the PSOs have around ₹1.10 crore in their accounts - these money according to them were payments received in the studio of Zubeen.
The SIT of the CID probing the death of Zubeen had recently arrested Sandipan Garg, a cousin of the singer and an Assam Police Service (APS) officer.
Sandipan was present on the yacht in Singapore when Zubeen died. He was posted as deputy superintendent (law and order) in Kamrup district.
The SIT probing the death of Zubeen Garg has already arrested the chief organiser of the Northeast India Festival, Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen's manager Siddharth Sharma, and band members, including Sekharjyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta.
Zubeen died under mysterious circumstances in Singapore on September 19 while swimming in the sea.
