Inter-ministerial teams to assess flood damage
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced inter-ministerial teams to assess flood damage in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. Teams arrived on September 7 and began fieldwork on September 8, led by senior IAS officers. In Uttarakhand, teams visited Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and other districts on September 8 for on-ground evaluations, including infrastructure losses and victim interactions. Similar assessments are ongoing in the other Northern states.
Move to upgrade the pay grade of Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors in DP
Newly appointed Commissioner Satish Golcha has initiated a significant move to upgrade the pay grade of Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors from Grade ‘C’ to Grade ‘B’. A formal letter was sent from the Police Commissioner’s Secretariat to the Delhi Government on or around September 6, 2025. If approved, this would result in a salary increase for these ranks, addressing long-standing demands for better compensation to boost morale and retention. This issue was previously raised by outgoing ACP Ajay Gupta during his retirement. This aligns with the broader trend of internal reforms and career progression emphasised in recent reshuffles.
