Perrie Edwards admits she's 'embarrassed' by 'toxic' exes in sad confession

Perrie Edwardshas confessed that she feels embarrassed about her previous relationships and that her friends never informed her that they were failing so miserably.

The formerLittle Mixsinger's most notable ex is former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, whom she was engaged to from 2013 to 2015 and later described their relationship as 'toxic'. The 32-year-old singer was also been linked to Skins actor Luke Pasqualino in 2016 and was rumored to be dating model Leon King in 2015, although neither relationship became serious.

Lifting the lid on her former love stories, Perrie told The Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill that she was left oblivious as to what her friends truly thought about her relationships.

"My friends all knew exactly what was happening" “You know the red flags are there, but you chose not to see them," the mum-of-one confessed.

When asked by Jimmy is she had ever been in a situation where she had a lightbulb moment and thought “this isn’t working, break up with this guy", Perrie said that it's happened on more than one occasion.

The Shout Out To My Ex singer explained: "Many times! Many many times. It's such a relatable concept because so many friends go through it, people in your life. When I was going through it, nobody said anything.

"That annoyed me more. I was like embarrassed. My friends all knew exactly what was happening, but when you’re in love or when you’re in a relationship you can’t see it. You’re just so obsessed with that person and you know the red flags are there, but you chose not to see them.

"That’s exactly what I did. And after I went through like heartbreak and I went through such a horrendous time, when my friends were coming to me, it wasn’t that I was this bitter cow like “you need to be miserable too!” I was just like, I'm never ever going to let my friends go through what I went through one I know something."

It comes after it was reported that fiancé Alex and Perrie are set to move in together after nine years. The Little Mix singer shocked fans when she revealed she's never lived with her fiancé, with whom she shares young son Axel, in the nine years they've been together.

Last year, she said: "When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn't get a lot of time off."

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, she added: "We've never lived together the eight years we've been in a relationship, we've never actually lived together.

"We're very laid back and very chilled." Footballer Alex has been living in Turkey since 2023 and playing for Besiktas, but after the mutual termination of his contract, he can now return to England.

Sources now say that Perrie and Alex could be moving in together after almost a decade. They claimed the two are 'really excited about the prospect of finally living together'.

"She’s never made a secret of the struggles that came with a long-distance relationship, but with Alex now being eyed by the likes of Birmingham City and Leeds, it looks like they’ll finally be a proper family - something they’ve always wanted," the insider added to The Sun.
