Thomas Tuchel makes England claim that fans will love ahead of the World Cup

Thomas Tuchel says England are on their way to playing like a Premier League team. Tuchel admits his target is to get England to play like a club side because it will give them a chance of winning the World Cup next summer.

England boss Tuchel has insisted that the competition, physical nature and intensity of the Premier League makes it the toughest in the world. Tuchel believes playing like the best Prem teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City as well as using long throws and set pieces will make ’Team England’ a match for anyone.

And nearly a year since being named as Three Lions boss, Tuchel says England are on their way. “We are getting there,” said Tuchel. “We are getting there 100 per cent. In Serbia, it looked like club football and against Wales it looked like club football.”

England put five past Serbia and ran out 3-0 winners over Wales and Tuchel dug out the Wembley fans for being ’silent’ and not showing enough support. But Tuchel effectively ruled out playing next year’s two friendlies in March - likely to be the last two home games before England jet off to the United States for the World Cup - anywhere other than Wembley.

Former England boss Gareth Southgate used to enjoy taking the team on the road and to other Premier League grounds but Tuchel insisted he will have ’no problem’ playing at Wembley. Tuchel said: “I am pretty sure we will play here (at Wembley) and no problem.

“I loved the support in Serbia and I am sure we will have top support in Latvia and of course once we arrive at the World Cup it will be outstanding. They should not under-estimate how much it helps sometimes if the game goes a bit flat.

“Like if they keep the thing going again it could help us and then we would have maybe scored and regained energy. It is give and take.”

Meanwhile, England captain Harry Kane and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are both expected to be fit for the trip to Latvia next Tuesday. Kane missed the Wales game with an ankle issue while Watkins was substituted after colliding with a post but both have insisted they will be fit.

England can qualify for the World Cup in Latvia next Tuesday if results go their way and Serbia fail to beat either Albania - who they face on Saturday night - or Andorra in this international camp.
