CBSE Admission 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the final date for direct admissions and subject changes for classes 10 and 12 for the academic year 2025-26. All affiliated schools must finalize admissions and any subject alterations by 31 August 2025. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
This initiative by CBSE aims to maintain accurate student records, ensure fair examinations, and assist schools in organizing their academic schedules effectively. Therefore, it is crucial for students and parents to complete the required processes promptly to avoid complications during the upcoming academic year's examinations.
Direct Admission Deadline for Classes 10 and 12
The deadline for direct admissions in classes 10 and 12 is set for 31 August 2025. Schools are required to compile a list of all admissions and submit it to the regional office by 2 September 2025, along with the necessary documentation. The regional office will then approve these admissions by 15 September 2025. In cases where admissions occur after the deadline due to a parent's transfer in government service, the school must inform the regional office within two days of the admission.
Subject Change Deadline
Requests for subject changes for students in classes 10 and 12 must also be submitted by 31 August 2025. Schools will need to prepare a tabular record of all requests and send it to the regional office by 2 September 2025. The CBSE regional offices will review and approve these requests by 15 September 2025.
Admissions Post 31 August for Transfer Cases
CBSE has made provisions for students whose parents have been transferred under government job regulations. These students can still secure admission after 31 August, but it is essential to submit the relevant documents to the CBSE regional office within two days of admission.
