'I have no regrets', statement of the accused who burnt his wife alive for dowry | Know the important points of the Nikki murder case

Greater Noida Nikki Murder Case: Accused husband Vipin said that he did not kill Nikki, but she died on her own. Vipin Bhati had tried to portray this incident as a suicide through an emotional post on social media.

In Greater Noida, husband Vipin, who burnt his wife to death for dowry, was shot in the leg by the police during an encounter. Nikki Bhati was harassed by her husband and in-laws for dowry ever since her marriage in 2016. Not only this, her sister was married to the same family in Sirsa village, and she was also being harassed for dowry.

The accused said- I have no regrets

According to the report of news agency ANI, the accused husband, Vipin, said that he did not kill Nikki, but she died on her own. He said, "I do not regret this incident. There are fights between husband and wife; this is a very normal thing." The police arrested the accused Vipin Bhati on Saturday (23 August 2025). Videos have also surfaced in which he is seen beating his wife, Nikki, and dragging her by her hair in his house in Greater Noida.

Nikki was set on fire in front of the child

Nikki's elder sister, Kanchan, made a video of the incident in Sirsa village. She accused Bhati and his family members, who are also married into the same family, of killing Nikki for dowry. "We were beaten and tortured for several days. They were demanding Rs 36 lakh. They attacked her neck and head, threw acid, and set her on fire in front of her child," Kanchan said.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Nikki's 6-year-old son said, "He poured something on my mother, then slapped her, then set her on fire with a lighter." Nikki's mother said that she had given Vipin a car, a bike, and gold, but he wanted more than that. The deceased's father said that Vipin Bhati is not a human being but a monster.

Conspiracy to show murder as suicide

A few hours before his arrest on murder charges, accused Vipin Bhati posted a post on Instagram trying to prove that his wife Nikki had committed suicide. He wrote, "Why didn't you tell me what happened? Why did you leave me? Why did you do this? The world is calling me a murderer, Nikki. A lot of wrong things are happening to me after you left." This post is going viral on social media.

'Vipin should be shot in the chest.'

Nikki's father said, "Once we brought her (Nikki) back home due to domestic violence, but due to social pressure, her in-laws took her back. They promised not to harass my daughter again, but they continued to harass her. These people set her on fire and ran away. Neighbors took her to the hospital. When we reached, she was 70 percent burnt." After Vipin's encounter, Nikki's father said that he should be shot in the chest.

Vipin's father and brother are absconding

He said, "These brutes did not think twice before doing this to someone's daughter. They did not think about how we educated her and got her married. They should be hanged. Both my daughters were married in the same family. My grandson has also told everyone how and what happened." Vipin's father, Satyaveer Bhati, and brother, Rohit Bhati, are absconding. His mother Daya's name is also mentioned in the FIR."
