A 90 Day Fiance star has been labelled a 'sex tourist' after disclosing the age of their partner as the brand new series kicks off. The fourth season of the hit reality show, 90 Day Fiance, premieres today (July 13) on Discovery+. The series will chart the romantic journeys of seven fresh couples seeking love internationally, promising an abundance of drama.
Discovery+ teases: "Big secrets will change the course of relationships, cultural customs will be broken, and family inquisitions will be held as these couples try and work on their relationships with a number of obstacles to finding true love." Among these couples are Zena, 65, from Oxted, and Ebrima, 44. Zena was holidaying in The Gambia two years ago when she attracted the attention of her waiter, Ebrima.
He charmed her with flowers and sweet words, and they've maintained a long-distance relationship since then. However, Zena's family and friends harbour concerns that Ebrima's motives may be financially driven.
Introducing herself on the show, Zena shared details about her relationship, having met Ebrima in The Gambia while on holiday. Yet, due to the significant age difference, she confessed to some of the labels she's been given.
The Surrey native stated: "I don't really fancy men my own age", before adding: "Men in their 60s I'm not attracted to.... they're like washed up coleslaw." The age gap shocker hit when Zena revealed to a friend that her long-distance beau was 44, prompting the stunned response: "Your daughter's younger than that."
Zena confessed: "When I put a few posts up on my social media a lot of people said oh you're just a visa vagina, you're just a sex tourist." Zena fiercely rebutted the unsavoury comments, asserting: "No, I'm not a sex tourist because if I wanted to get sex in England, I could even at my age."
The narrative thickens with financial suspicion as friends and family doubtingly question Ebrima's motives, especially after requests for money. Zena assures her elderly mother on the programme: "I'm 20 odd years older but he treats me like a queen."
In a sneak peek glimpsed before the series aired, drama escalates as loved ones doubt her sanity, yet Zena stands firm, convinced of Ebrima's profound mindset, stating: "Ebrima has a very intellectual out view on life." Zena's trust is tested as she probes deeper into Ebrima's familial relations, particularly after his nephew addresses him as a father figure. Hoping to prove her family wrong, she asked him: "Is your sister really your wife?".
Audiences can dive into the first three instalments from July 13 on streaming platforms, with subsequent episodes debuting weekly; fans are standing by for episode 4 on July 20 and episode 5 on July 27. The series is slated to conclude on 14 September.
The reality show has garnered a strong fanbase since its debut in 2022.
90 Day Fiance will make its comeback on Discover+ from Sunday, 13 July, with new episodes dropping weekly.
