BBC Only Connect fans slam team leader after spotting 'annoying' habit

BBC fans who tuned into the latest episode of Only Connect were left complaining over a team leader's rather annoying habit. During Monday's episode (September 29), Victoria Coren Mitchell hosted the Benchwamers versus the Scanners, and there could only be one winner who made it through to the next round. Questions revolved around dating apps, saying Woof Woof in different languages, and the most populous cities in Kenya. During the episode, fans were left distracted by one of the team leaders and issued complaints on social media.

One person moaned on X: "The loud discussion on every single clue and its many meanings is extremely annoying. #onlyconnect." A second also similarly said: "Sorry, but I hate listening to Kai listing all the possibilities ON THE FIRST CLUE #onlyconnect." A third typed on X: "Kai is bit of a Lad..... #onlyconnect #quizzymonday."

During the first round, questions were asked about dogs, centenarian gifts, dating apps, taxes, and the Oscar-winning film Everything Everywhere All at Once.

In the next round, the Benchwarmers were first up on the Walls, and worked everything out very quickly for a full ten. Meanwhile, the Scanners took a bit longer, but the result was the same. It came down to the final round.

The Benchwarmers led 21-17 going into the Missing Vowels round. The Scanners made an impressive recovery and came so close to catching them, but not quite; the Benchwarmers held on to win 26-25 at the death.

At the start of September, Only Connect fans criticized the show after a team randomly began singing a popular song from a West End musical. On September 1, host Victoria welcomed The Jive Bunnies as they took on The Sorcerers in a huge win on the popular quiz show.

During the episode, the Sorcerers were asked a question about the musical Wicked, with several clues, such as "defying gravity" and "ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space," appearing for the teams to work out.

The team was unable to get the answer right, but host Victoria said: "You didn't get a chance to hear the chorus, but if you had, it might have gone...." The team followed her cue and began singing loudly as Victoria waved her arms around like a music conductor.
