Police have shut down an area of Brussels following a bomb threat. The threat was reportedly directed at the Cinema Palace.
The Beurs, Anneessens and De Brouckère metro stations have also been closed by police order and the terraces of several nearby cafes have been evacuated.
"It was indeed a bomb threat near the cinema," commissioner Linda Camarero-Verde of the Brussels-Capital-Ixelles police zone told Dutch news outlet HLN.
"Our teams went to the scene to search people and comb the area. Anspachlaan has now been reopened. Sweeps with sniffer dogs are still underway at the Anneessens and De Brouckère metro stations."
