Taylor Swift engaged to Travis Kelce as fans in meltdown at statement

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have announced their engagement in a heartfelt post that's sent fans into meltdown. On Tuesday (August 26), the Love Story hitmaker took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her fiercely loyal fanbase online. The musician simply captioned the post: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married".

The couple, who first started dating in summer 2023, could be seen in what could be mistaken as a quaint English garden surrounded by pink flowers as the American football player got down on one knee. In one shot, Taylor could be seen crying as she hugged her now fiancée, before sharing a close-up snap of her jaw-dropping vintage ring. It featured one large diamond, with the gold band resting on her finger as it glistened under the sun.

Shortly after saying 'Yes', the couple stretched back and relaxed on a bench underneath the enormous floral gazebo, with Taylor resting her head on the sportsman's shoulders. In less than 20 minutes, their celebratory post has received more than 1.5million likes.

Travis and Taylor's love story began in July 2023 when Travis made the trip down to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City-not for a Chiefs match but rather to attend Taylor's iconic Eras Tour. On his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, he later shared his real motives for attending the sold-out tour.

The American footballer had planned to pass Taylor his phone number through a friendship bracelet, only to find out she avoids talking pre and post-concerts to preserve her vocal chords. Fortunately enough for the sports star, he got a second chance at winning her over when she heard about his romantic gesture.
