Apple has just announced three new Apple Watch models - the SE 3, Series 11 and Ultra 3 - which means older Apple Watches are seeing pleasing discounts at UK retailers. This includes the Apple Watch SE 2, which is currently available for £179.
That's a bit of a bargain for an Apple Watch considering the Ultra 3 is hitting shelves this Friday for a whopping £749.
Originally released back in 2022, the Apple Watch SE 2 is a good choice for iPhone owners who want an Apple wearable without breaking the bank but that still has all the core features you'd expect from a smartwatch.
That's all here with the SE 2, all packed into a very compact 40mm casing. It has a Retina OLED screen, heart rate sensor for all day use as well as in workouts, plus high and low heart rate and irregular rhythm notifications. You can also wear it to bed to get sleep tracking metrics, plus update it to the new free watchOS 26 software and you'll get a sleep score out of 100 after every slumber.
There's also cycle tracking alongside a plethora of sports and fitness activity tracking, from walks to run, hikes to swimming and beyond. Built-in GPS means you can track outdoor runs without needing to take your phone, plus there's a built in speaker if you need to take calls on your wrist. The watch is water resistant to 50m, too, and has a compass for navigating your way through your next trek.
Apple promises 18 hours of battery life, which is enough to get you through a day and night of wear, but you'll need to put it on a charger at least once a day.
You can get all of this on the Apple Watch SE 2 for just £179 from Argos in three different colours.
Be sure to pick between a S/M or M/L band before you buy.
If you prefer, there's a larger screen 44mm version that Argos also has on sale for £209.
Despite these good prices, you may want to consider the newer Apple Watch SE 3 Apple has just announced that replaces the SE 2 in the line up.
It costs from £219 and adds an always-on display, something the SE 2 lacks. This means you can glance at the time at any time, rather than peering down at a blank black screen.
A newer chip also makes things a tad faster, and you'll also get perks such as sleep apnoea notifications, temperature sensing, new gestures to dismiss notifications or open them when your hands are full, and faster charging speeds.
You can pre-order the Apple Watch SE 3 from Argos here.
