Porter had been rehabbing a sprained left ankle he sustained in the first quarter of the Bucks' opening-night win on Oct. 22, but he injured his knee on Thursday while going through on-court exercises.
Porter was ramping up his activity after spraining his left ankle on opening night when the injury occurred last Thursday during an on-court session. The 25-year-old guard had started that first game after re-signing with Milwaukee in the offseason on a two-year deal, but left after just nine minutes.
Porter, the final first-rounder in the 2019 NBA Draft, has had an up-and-down career featuring a mix of both off-court scandals and flashes of elite talent. Porter resurfaced in the NBA last season after he missed the entire 2023–24 season due to a domestic abuse incident that led to an investigation by the NBA.
After being traded to Milwaukee in the middle of the season, he played much better, averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 19.9 minutes per game while shooting 41% from three-point range and nearly 50% from the field.
