An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 magnitude occurred near the Philippines ' southern coastline on Saturday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The seismic activity was detected 59 kilometres (37 miles) below the surface, approximately 10 kilometers from the town of Cagwait in Surigao del Sur province.
No casualties or damage to infrastructure has been reported for now.
This comes just days after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit the Pacific seaboard of the southern major island of Mindanao , killing at least 8 people. It was followed by 6.9 magnitude aftershock on Friday.
